Weartronics began in 1998, developing a range of wearable computing products including head-mounted displays and gesture/chording input devices. Since then, the application scope has expanded to include a wide range of electronic, mechanical and optical systems. By taking advantage of such multi-disciplined skills and experience, customers benefit from reduced development times and better integrated products.
Applications include economical repair, maintenance and re-engineering of existing equipment, as well as design, prototyping and short-run production of new products. Although the majority of these services are contracted to other companies, selected products and surplus parts from internal projects are also available for sale. Past projects have included the design and development of CNC equipment and controls for the manufacturing industry, specialised lighting effects for advertising and entertainment, and various scientific research endeavours.
